Tasu Construction
April 1, 2025

Tasu Construction has recently completed the craning phase of a new project called “The Grove.” The Grove is a shelter intended for older adults who are experiencing homelessness, and will feature 42 total bedrooms. 10 of these bedrooms will have accessibility features. The shelter will also feature supportive services and outdoor amenities.

A few months ago, Tasu initiated civil work to prepare the site for construction, while the project’s modules were being manufactured in a controlled indoor facility. This process highlights a major benefit of modular construction, as multiple processes can happen simultaneously, therefore accelerating the project timeline. Once both the site and modules were ready, the modules were carefully transported via dedicated trucking systems.

Last week, the modules arrived safely at the project site, marking the beginning of the craning process. During this phase, specialized cranes meticulously lift and position each module onto the foundation, while the Tasu crew worked hard to ensure that everything occurred smoothly and safely. This intricate process can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, requiring precise handling to prevent structural damage and ensure proper placement.

After being craned into position, the modules are securely fastened using precision-engineered straps to ensure stability and structural integrity. With this critical step complete, Tasu can now shift focus to the final stages of the project. This includes electrical, plumbing, roofing, siding, landscaping and more.

As these finishing touches come together, the site will gradually transform into a fully functional and polished space, bringing the vision to life. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach project completion!
