Our Story

Founded in 2013, and based in Squamish BC, Tasu Construction delivers innovative, adaptable modular construction services from early planning and design through to installation and final commissioning.

Tasu is named after a large coastal sound on the west side of Haida Gwaii, off the coast of British Columbia, which is as rugged as it is beautiful. Tasu Sound embodies the type of area in which we thrive – remote, hard-to-reach areas that often require reliable temporary housing for workers. Formerly operating as Landsea Camp Services and Landsea Construction Ltd., Tasu has evolved from a remote workforce camp installation specialist into a comprehensive construction partner focused on modern, prefabricated project delivery across Western Canada. Our goal; to improve lives and strengthen communities by delivering innovative, sustainable building solutions that create meaningful and lasting impact.

Tasu’s approach is rooted in Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA), ensuring that buildings are designed with fabrication, transportation, and installation in mind from day one. This allows us to reduce inefficiencies, control quality, and execute complex modular installations with confidence.

The increasing demand for quality housing, whether temporary or permanent, requires modular construction solutions that are more time and cost-effective than traditional construction methods. Whether it’s a remote location or within a busy urban center, the needs of industry and government organizations are the same: smart, efficient, and reliable housing solutions that improve the lives of the building operators and those who call it home.

Licensed Residential Builder

Tasu Construction is recognized as a Licensed Residential Builder by BC Housing.

This license reflects our continued commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant homes throughout the province—especially in the modular and remote housing sectors. Our license confirms that we meet all regulatory, financial, and technical requirements set out by the Homeowner Protection Act.

As a Licensed Residential Builder, Tasu can:

> Construct and manage residential housing projects that require home warranty coverage

> Provide new home warranty protection through third-party providers, ensuring peace of mind for homeowners

> Offer greater accountability and assurance to clients, communities, and partners

Health & Safety

We are committed to elevating Health and Safety standards for our workers, partners and communities.

Whether it’s a remote location or within a busy urban center, we deploy a Health & Safety Committee to oversee the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Program. This ensures all construction procedures are implemented and adhered to. Our management team conducts routine site inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate policy knowledge, and provide ongoing training opportunities.

Our workforce receives proper training and certifications in their job duties and responsibilities.

Every team member receives comprehensive training in Safe Work Procedures relevant to their job responsibilities and tasks during orientation. They are required to familiarize themselves with and adhere to our OH&S Program and attend Toolbox Meetings, during which we address safety issues, enhancements to job standards, and general work and service-related matters.

Avetta Member

We are a certified member of the Avetta Consortium. This signifies that we are part of a global effort to advance company and worker safety, sustainability and operational excellence.

Environmental Stewardship

Tasu promotes sustainability in our industry to minimize our environmental impact.

We value the diversity and ecological sensitivity of the environments in which we live and work. To honour our commitment to sound environmental planning, we complete an Environment Management Plan that ensures the mitigation of environmental impacts, compliance with environmental regulations, and the adoption of sustainable construction practices.

We collaborate with environmental consultants to proactively address project-specific methods of minimizing economic and human risk exposure, efficient waste and material management, and safety contingency plans for hazardous materials.

Indigenous and Local Community Partnerships

We are committed to building sustainable relationships with Indigenous and local communities.

We nurture strong and enduring partnerships with Indigenous communities across British Columbia, with a particular focus on advancing First Nation housing initiatives. This includes identifying opportunities that benefit each Nation and extending support to those working in the region.

We believe that it is our responsibility to engage and support these communities.

As part of our modular construction services, our team is dedicated to creating subcontracting and procurement opportunities for local and member-owned businesses. We prioritize providing on-site job training, ensuring that this investment continues to deliver enduring value to community members well into the future.
