SMARTER SOLUTIONS

Our Story

Tasu is named after Tasu Sound, a large inlet on the west side of Haida Gwaii, off the coast of British Columbia, which is as rugged as it is beautiful.

Tasu Sound embodies the type of area in which we thrive – remote, hard-to-reach areas that often require reliable temporary housing for workers. We provide complete modular solutions for affordable housing, remote workforces, and Indigenous communities. Backed by over a decade of experience, our team can handle every aspect of project design, coordination, construction, and installation in remote and urban locations.

We strive to improve people’s lives and the communities we serve with every project we build.

STRATEGIC EFFICIENCY

A Team That Works With You And For You

Meeting occupancy dates according to your timeline.

The Tasu team ensures we are aligned with our client’s needs and devise solutions that fit their budget and schedule demands. We pride ourselves on being a nimble team that can respond quickly to our client’s stringent financial and planning needs.

We work quickly to finalize project design, secure approvals, mobilize equipment, install assets, and connect utilities so your project is ready for occupancy in line with your schedule.

Health & Safety

We are committed to elevating Health and Safety standards for our workers, partners and communities.

Whether it’s a remote location or within a busy urban center, we deploy a Health & Safety Committee to oversee the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Program. This ensures all construction procedures are implemented and adhered to. Our management team conducts routine site inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate policy knowledge, and provide ongoing training opportunities.

Our workforce receives proper training and certifications in their job duties and responsibilities.

Every team member receives comprehensive training in Safe Work Procedures relevant to their job responsibilities and tasks during orientation. They are required to familiarize themselves with and adhere to our OH&S Program and attend Toolbox Meetings, during which we address safety issues, enhancements to job standards, and general work and service-related matters.

Indigenous and Local Community Partnerships

We are committed to building sustainable relationships with Indigenous and local communities.

We nurture strong and enduring partnerships with Indigenous communities across Western Canada. This includes identifying opportunities that benefit each Nation and extending support to those working in the region.

We believe that it is our responsibility to engage and support these communities.

Our team is dedicated to creating subcontracting and procurement opportunities for local and member-owned businesses while generating lasting benefits in the communities in which we operate. We prioritize providing on-site job training, ensuring that this investment continues to deliver enduring value to community members well into the future.

Environmental Stewardship

Tasu promotes sustainability in our industry to minimize our environmental impact.

We value the diversity and ecological sensitivity of the environments in which we live and work. To honour our commitment to sound environmental planning, we complete an Environment Management Plan that ensures the mitigation of environmental impacts, compliance with environmental regulations, and the adoption of sustainable construction practices.

We collaborate with environmental consultants to proactively address project-specific methods of minimizing economic and human risk exposure, efficient waste and material management, and safety contingency plans for hazardous materials.
