New Innovative Modular School Addition In Langley, BC:
Last month, Tasu Construction proudly completed their most innovative multi-storey modular school addition to date, a project that showcased the power of collaboration and efficiency.
Faced with growing enrolment and limited classroom space, the Langley School District needed a fast, efficient solution. In collaboration with ROC Modular, Turner Construction, Make Projects, and Thinkspace Architects, Tasu delivered a 16 module, 11,520 sq. ft. addition featuring:
- 8 bright, flexible classrooms supporting up to 200 students
- A quiet room, resource spaces, washrooms, foyer, and administrative areas
- Structural steel beams for open, column-free learning environments
- An elevator for accessibility and improved student flow
- Energy-efficient systems and sustainable building materials
Why Modular?
Using modular methods, the new classrooms were constructed offsite while site work advanced simultaneously, minimizing disruption to the school community. Once delivered, the modules were installed in under a week, with final connections, finishes, and landscaping completed seamlessly.
From design to delivery in just six months, this project showcases how modular construction can provide high-quality, sustainable, and rapidly deployable educational spaces that keep pace with community growth.
This addition not only supports Langley’s growing population, but also sets a benchmark for future school projects across BC, thus demonstrating the power of collaboration, innovation, and efficiency in modern construction.
