Modular Homes Strengthen First Nations Community In BC:
These new homes, which are a mix of 2-bedroom and 1-bedroom units, are a reflection of what is possible when collaboration and innovation come together.
By using modular construction methods, the team was able to accelerate timelines, adhere to tight budgets, and minimize disruption on site while still maintaining a high standard of quality.
Jamie Hutton, Tasu’s Business Development Manager, emphasized that the project is only an early step in addressing housing challenges. “While these homes make an immediate impact, they’re just the start. The demand for safe, modern housing in the community remains high, and ongoing investment will be key to addressing overcrowding and replacing aging infrastructure.”
Highlighting the efficiency of modular construction, Project Development Manager Justin McKellar noted the speed at which the homes were delivered: “This was our second project with the community, and we’re proud to support such an important initiative. Thanks to modular construction, families were able to move in just four months after site work began.”
These new homes illustrate how modular construction can deliver urgently needed housing while also supporting long-term community growth. Each new home strengthens the foundation for a healthier, more sustainable future.
