Craning Complete For 6-storey Supportive Housing Project:

After four weeks of continuous craning, Tasu Construction, in partnership with Ventana Construction and ROC Modular, have officially completed the craning phase for this 6-storey supportive housing project. This milestone marks a major step forward in addressing British Columbia’s ongoing housing crisis.

In just one month, the full structural build of this 6-storey development was achieved using prefabricated modules that were manufactured off-site, then transported to the project location and craned into place. A particularly complex component of this phase was the installation of the CLT (cross-laminated timber) elevator shaft. Craned in as a fully assembled structure spanning three vertical stories, it required careful coordination and meticulous alignment to ensure a seamless fit with the rest of the building.

With all modules now successfully placed, the project shifts into the next phase of construction. Our crews will focus on completing the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, along with interior and exterior finishings. Once complete, the building will offer 60 studio apartment units with 24/7 supportive services, helping to provide stable housing for individuals in need.

This project is a testament to what’s possible when innovative construction methods and community-driven development come together to deliver housing solutions quickly, efficiently, and at scale.
