Completion Of The Grove:
A new shelter designed for older adults experiencing housing insecurity is now complete, with residents set to move in this summer.
In just five months, Tasu Construction successfully provided Design-Build Services for a new shelter in Chilliwack that will soon provide stable housing for 42 individuals. The facility includes 42 private bedrooms (including 9 accessible rooms) and shared amenities such as lounges, dining areas, gardens, and covered picnic spaces. The shelter will be operated by RAN Mission, offering 24/7 support services including life skills training, wellness checks, daily meals, laundry, and health care referrals.
This important project was funded through the HEARTH program, which supports the development of emergency housing options to help individuals transition indoors and access the services they need.
The Grove represents a meaningful step forward in addressing housing insecurity and creating dignified, supportive spaces for vulnerable members of our community.
