Tasu Attends Canada Builds Modular Summit:
On October 23 2025, the Canada Builds Modular Summit 2025 gathered industry, government and Indigenous-housing leaders in Toronto to explore how factory-built, modular housing can help tackle Canada’s ongoing housing crisis.
Here were some of the key themes from the event:
- Site readiness & public-land opportunities: Having land zoned, serviced and ready for modular deployment is critical if modular is to move from niche to mainstream.
- Manufacturing & supply chain scale-up: With modular housing being factory-built, having domestic factories, logistics networks and trade capacity are essential to deliver at speed.
- Procurement, financing & policy alignment: Procurement rules, financing models, and regulatory frameworks must evolve to support modular methods.
- Indigenous and inclusive engagement: Housing solutions must include Indigenous-led housing organizations and ensure equity in delivery and design outcomes.
By bringing together stakeholders across the ecosystem, the summit served as a platform to align on what needs to change: policy, process, investment, and manufacturing. Overall, modular construction is being explored as a strategic tool to speed up delivery, reduce cost and deliver housing at scale.
