Delivered in the Yukon
The Yukon is where Tasu's work is hardest to fake. Weather-dependent road access, spring weight restrictions, wildfire closures, a build season that closes early, and sites that are often occupied and running around the clock. These are the conditions that separate a modular installer that talks about remote delivery from one that does it and that actually lives it. Tasu started as a remote camp specialist on the West Coast and is now proud to include the Yukon in our workforce camp installation service area.
Three recent projects show the range: a two-storey mine-dry facility at an active mine, a full dormitory replacement beside a 24-hour camp, and an office complex relocated and rebuilt on a remote northern site.
In each, Tasu worked as the delivery and installation partner. The modules came from our supply partners, Tasu carried the upgrades, renovations, complete site scope, the logistics, and the single point of accountability from mobilization through commissioning.
Faro Mine-Dry Installation
Location: Faro, Yukon · Completed: 2026 · Size: 14 modules, 2 storeys, 10,000 sq ft
At an active mine near Faro, Tasu dismantled a five-unit recreation building and installed a two-storey mine-dry facility in its place, a six-over-eight module configuration with a large entranceway and new recreation space. Tasu handled the site scope end to end: module setting, structural connections, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and the heat-traced utility tie-ins a facility this far north depends on.
The build ran through the subarctic winter, in temperatures between minus 20 and minus 45, with a 120-tonne crane mobilized from Whitehorse for the multi-storey lifts. This project is exactly what remote construction performance at a Yukon mine demands: an occupied operation, a narrow weather window, and no margin for a delivery that doesn't go to plan.

Keno Hill Dormitory Replacement
Location: Flat Creek Camp, near Elsa, Yukon · Size: 44-person modular dormitory
At Hecla's Flat Creek Camp in the Keno Hill Silver District, Tasu took a single-contractor scope for this workforce camp installation. Retiring an aging dormitory and standing up its replacement, we carried out the decommissioning and demolishing the existing B dorm, delivering an engineered foundation, and hauling and installing a 44-person modular dormitory from staging in Whitehorse, complete with electrical, mechanical, and supply / waste-water tie-ins. We also built a fully attached, insulated boot room engineered for the northern climate, with full-perimeter skirting.
Every phase ran next to an occupied, 24-hour camp with workers sleeping through night shifts, so crane picks, demolition, and haul sequencing were coordinated around the operation to keep noise and disruption down. Foundation, envelope, and utility detailing were built for Yukon environmental conditions from the start.
Burwash Landing Office Relocation
Location: Burwash Landing, Yukon · Size: 18-unit office complex
Tasu relocated an 18-unit modular office complex from Southern Alberta to Burwash Landing, carefully dismantling the existing buildings, moving them the length of the country, and fully reinstalling them at a remote northern site. Tasu handled foundation blocking, module setting, mechanical and electrical tie-ins, exposed-line heat trace, and skirting to close the buildings in for the climate.
A relocation rewards the same discipline as a new install: units dismantled and fully shrink-wrapped to protect them in transit, a haul planned around distance and access, and a site crew ready to reassemble efficiently once the modules arrive. It's the kind of long-distance modular move Tasu was built for.
